Vintage at the Southbank Centre

Zoe and I went to Britain Loves Vintage at the Southbank Centre, London, yesterday. Zoe totally rocked in a 1960s Twiggy dress with matching tights and shoes, and I opted for a 1970s floral dress found last week in The Ballroom, Oxford.

I have so many photographs to edit which I hope to upload during the week. There were some fabulous people, sights and far too many delicious things to buy. I was very good purchasing only a vintage squeaky toy and some Queen's Coronation hairs clips.

I had my photograph taken for some fashion thingy - I wait in fear for where it might be used!



The highlight of my day was seeing my photographs on the plasma screens throughout the Southbank Centre, although I have to confess it was a little strange seeing items from my home projected throughout the venue.

Candy Pop at the Southbank Centre

8 of my photographs will be exhibited during Britain Loves Vintage at the Southbank Centre this weekend (29-31 July 2011). A Brighton Birthday

Birthdays are usually spent in Brighton, which to me is like a giant playground for adults. The sea, the vintage shops and the bars and restaurants make for a perfect day out.

This year I met Jo, Andy and Jeff - friends from my days as an art student in Worthing. We laughed and laughed some more, and tried not to count how many years have passed since we first met.

The vintage shops were packed full of goodies and the four Japanese pose dolls in Snoopers Paradise made my heart sing. I found a kitsch glass dome complete with butterflies in the North Laine Antique and Fleamarket. I also stumbled across my flickr friend Casper James restocking his stall. What a small world we live in.

A Birthday Blogger

Hi! It's my birthday today - 21 again.

I am spending the day with friends; lunch, shopping, tea, birthday cake and photography are on the menu. Just what the doctor ordered.

My New Niece ~ Fifi

I travelled to Maidenhead today to meet my beautiful new niece ~ Fifi (Sofia Scarlett). Seeing my little sister walk down the stairs carrying a tiny three day old baby was quite an emotional moment and we both cried tears of joy.



Fifi's first gift from Auntie Candy Pop had to be a Cath Kidston baby grow. I am so predictable. I could have quite easily bought up the entire baby range - but I guess there is always next week.



I was utterly thrilled to see an original Candy Pop adorning the nursery wall, complimented by two Boots 1970s Wind in the Willows prints. What a classy young lady she is destined to be!



Well done little sis - I am so proud of you. xxxx

This week I am enjoying singing to my iPod on the way home from work - when no one is around, laughing lots and lots with my amazing friends - you know who you are, chatting to my sister, who is soon to enter into a whole new world, and finally, making exciting plans for my birthday.
