I spent the day at my sister's house where a huge gang congregated around the television to watch the wedding take place. And how fabulous was it? The beautiful Kate, the McQueen dress, my sister's addictive strawberry sponge pudding. Woweeeee!

Royal Wedding Part 2
My crazy Mother is currently in London with her friend Rose, I am dreading turning on the news, if I see her in a tent I will never stop laughing. By the way, I went into Marks and Spencer earlier to buy my sister one of the Royal Wedding tins and low and behold they have sold out. I knew it.
Here are a few Royal Wedding snaps from around Oxford. Enjoy your day - whatever you are up to!

Royal Wedding Part 1
There was absolutely no way I was going to be sucked into buying any Royal Wedding themed tat... Erm, until I saw this pretty turquoise tin filled with yummy shortbread biscuits in Marks and Spencer. How could anyone refuse?
I am calling this post Royal Wedding Part 1 because lets face it, there is going to be a lot more Rule Britannia on the Candy Pop blog this week.
And can I please just add; these tins will sell for a fortune on eBay in 20 years time. You heard it here first.

Sister
The first blog post of the new blog year had to be of my lovely sister who visited me yesterday. And no she didn't eat too many Easter eggs, she is just over six month pregnant. Exciting!

Happy 1st Blog Birthday
A year ago today I blogged for the first time and here is the post. So a whole blogging year has passed and what an amazing and weird year it has been. My life away from blogging has been (please excuse the clique) a roller coaster and my blog has served as an escapism into a world of photography, vintage and kitsch.

Thank you everyone who has given me permission to blog their work, especially those who have let me feature them on my Friday Photographer posts. My blog has been viewed just under 17,000 times and the three most popular posts have been N.E.E.T The Book, Doll Snaps and Chelsea Girls.
And finally, thanks to all who visit my blog and leave comments.
Lots of love.. Candy Pop

Easter Cheer!
For me Easter is better than Christmas - give me daffodils, hot cross buns, Easter eggs, spring sunshine, chicks, bunnies and lambs over Santa any day! Here are some photographs I took in the Oxford Covered Market, although the place is covered in William and Kate there are still plenty of chicks commanding attention.

Dream 1960's Japanese Pose Doll
Good afternoon! I was just having a break from gardening when I stumbled across my dream 60's Japanese pose doll on Etsy. But alas, she was already reserved, so near yet so far. Sob. Anyway, she can be admired in this Etsy shop (but not for long).

A Sunny Weekend in April

I don't know about you but I LOVE pink blossom. Happy spring y'all!
I have taken about fifty photographs of this blossom tree, so if my Flickr stream turns into blossom-fest you have permission to leave me.

The Sue Ryder sale on Saturday was like Crufts for small dogs. If we didn't see one Pomeranian we saw ten, and as for the baby chihuahua squee! My sister came away with - no not a small handbag pet - but some chairs, which came in handy when we required a much needed pit stop (Em - do you like what I did there?) from shopping.

My sister bought some new brogues which needed to be snapped along with each cat. You know me. This black one was my favourite.

On such a wonderful sunny evening it would have been wrong not to eat out, so I later had dinner with my sister, her fiance, his twin sister Nina and his parents at a picturesque pub in Holyport. Laughter and tons of yummy food. Perfect. I will certainly be revisiting Holyport with my camera it was breathtakingly beautiful. Just the kind of village I would like to live in one day...
