Let's face it, it's all about the antlers!

Friday Photographer ~ Zoë Power

Simplicity

The blues

My Friday Photographer is the lovely Zoë Power. Zoë, like myself and Sophie G, is a regular at the Oxford Flickr Meets, although truth be told, we keep missing one another!

Project 52 ~ Week 2 ~ Thoughtful owl

Zoë has a mere 2,657 photographs on her Flickr stream, so choosing the ones to blog was a challenge to say the least. I have a particular fondness for Zoë's flower photographs, the macro ones remind me of the paintings by Georgia O'keeffe. Her images are crisp, bright and cheerful.

Owls to Zoë are like deers to me, and most Fridays an owl pops up on my Flickr feed as part of the Flickr Owl Friday project. I especially like the wise looking one above, he reminds me of the professor character on the 70's children's TV programme Bagpuss.

Zoë takes stunning photographs of her travels. I have no idea why she has not yet been headhunted by a holiday company, because I want to visit everywhere she has been.

Right, I'm off to book a holiday!

Hortense Chic

While visiting my sister at the weekend I made the easy mistake of picking up the Laura Ashley catalogue and falling in love with this season's new floral print. The print in question goes by the name of Hortense, and if it is anything as beautiful as it looks in the catalogue, I will be papering a wall, or even my whole house, in it.

Floral

And as if that wasn't enough, they have brought back the Colinton chair, which I thought had been discontinued. A retro floral masterpiece. Where do I sign?

Twiggy Love

Most of us have a style icon and mine is 60's Twiggy. I went to the Twiggy photography exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery three times last year. I am sure I could get lost forever in old photographs.

My Twiggy 'obsession' began when I was bullied in junior school for being 'skinny'. When I told my Mum what was happening she said Twiggy is skinny and she is fabulous. I guess Mums know best.

Tiny Treasures from Leominster

There is nothing better than coming home from a busy day at work and creating a blog post. My current blogging music is Pocket Symphony by Air, which I will almost certainly play it to death. I do that a lot.

Anyway, as promised, here are the treasures I brought back from lovely Leominster.

Rose

Some vintage red roses for Valentine's Day.

Bow

A kitsch kitty, only £1.50 from Oxfam, and not a single chip.

Beaded

A fabulous 1960's beaded bag. It is rare not to find missing beads on these bags, but this one is in perfect condition.

I also photographed the ones that got away. Maybe I should have bought them, or maybe they will still be there waiting for me on my next visit.

Kitty

Another kitsch kitty. Just look at that little face. I know, how could I have left him behind?

Molly Bret

A cute Molly Bret print. Love love love.

Bambi

The antique shop wanted £20 for him, they claimed he is an early Disney Bambi (not too sure about that), he was badly chipped, but I should have knocked them down and taken him home. Sob.

Anyways... My blog reached 10,000 views yesterday, thank you for your visits.

A Valentine Weekend Away

Leominster

For me there is only one place to go on Valentine's weekend and that is Leominster. It is truly extraordinary and my best kept secret - until now!

Leominster

I managed to find a few treasures which I will photograph when I have better light. I feel I should also say a little bit about the vintage shops, but there are so many I would not know where to start. So, I would just like to thank the ladies in Furniture & Things - French Style, The Blue Door and Teagowns & Textiles who very kindly let me take a few photographs. All three shops can be found on Broad Street, Leominster.

Vintage Valentine Cards

Valentine

Valentine

I love these vintage Valentine cards, so much better than the cards you find in the high street card shops. It is Monday, I am in work and I am feeling anything but romantic.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Nice Things on Sunday

While browsing the net I came across these pretty interiors. I love the pale simplicity teamed with splashes of colourful vintage fabrics and crafted items. Not to mention the cute vintage treasures.

It is wet and miserable today, so we are putting our feet up by the fire. I hope everyone is having a lovely day.
